If there was only one bean you could grow for molasses baked beans it would be Marfax. It has a natural nutty flavor. I can not get over how tasty this bean is. Bean 'Marflax' is a new England heirloom known for being adapted to northern climates.

Sow beans outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date when the soil is warm. Sow 1 inch deep and 3 inches apart in rows spaced 2–3 feet apart. Full sun.
