Bean 'Vermont Appaloosa' (Bush)

40 seeds. 60-85 days. Phaseolus vulgaris. Snap and dry bean.

'Vermont Appaloosa' is a kidney bean with a mottled white and brown pattern. Its pattern is reminiscent of the markings of an Appaloosa horse. The 5-inch green pods can be used as a snap bean, however it is primarily a dry bean for soup. The beans hold their shape when cooked.

Sowing Bush Bean Seeds:

Sow beans outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date when the soil is warm. Sow 1 inch deep and 3 inches apart in rows spaced 2–3 feet apart. Full sun.
