Beet 'Detroit Dark Red' is your classic beet with deep red color. This 1892 heirloom variety has sweet roots that are 3 inches in diameter. In our garden, some of the beets grew up to 4 inches wide by the end of the season. Detroit Dark Red my mother's favorite beet for its rich flavor.
