350 seeds. 100 days. Brassica oleracea. Biennial.
Cabbage 'Late Flat Dutch' is a pale green, Dutch variety that can be traced back to the 1840s. The large, flattened, oval cabbages may get up to 14 pounds in good cconditions! It is mild in flavor.
It is not my favorite cabbage because the shape of the head makes it easy for slugs to hide in under the leaves. But, its shape also makes it unique and fun to grow.
Spacing 12–18 inches.
Sowing Late Cabbage Seeds:
Sow seeds indoors 8–12 weeks before the last frost date, 1/4 inch deep. Transplant 3 weeks before the last frost date. Space 12–18 inches apart. Full sun.
