Red Russian is a oak leaf variety of kale with lovely grey-green leaves and purple veins. This pre-1885 Russian heirloom is often used as baby greens and is great added to soup in the last 10 minutes of cooking. It is hardy to temperatures down to -10 degrees fahrenheit.
Height 18–36 inches. Spacing 12 inches.
Sowing Kale Seeds:
Sow seeds outdoors 2–4 weeks before the last frost date to summer. Sow 1/4 inch deep. Full sun to part shade.
