Lettuce 'Marvel of Four Seasons' is a lovely variegated lettuce with a green center and bronze-red tips. This French heirloom from the 1800s grows well in many climates. It is fairly cold hardy and can be grown for a late fall harvest under protection.
 
One year our spring planting of Marvel of Four Seasons self-sowed and we got baby greens by fall of the same year. Truly a marvel!  It is also known as Merveille des Quatre Saisons. 
 
Sowing Lettuce Seeds: 
 
Sow lettuce seeds on the surface of the soil in early spring and lightly cover in soil. Thin seedlings to 8 inches apart. Full sun to part shade.
