25 seeds. 75 days. Capsicum annuum. Tender perennial.
Pepper 'Ausilio Thin Skin Italian' has square-shaped, 4-inch fruit that ripen from green to lipstick red. The shape of these peppers make them good for stuffing. They are hot peppers, but not as hot as Jalapeño in my opinion. We roasted our Ausilio Thin Skin Italian harvest. They were hot, but sweet at the same time.
This Italian family heirloom was donated to Seed Savers Exchange by Chad and Michele Ogle-Riccelli of Iowa whose ancestors immigrated over from Italy in the early 1900s.
Spacing 15 inches.
Sowing Peppers Seeds:
Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date. Transplant the pepper 2 weeks after the last frost date or when there is no hint of frost. Space 15 inches apart. Full sun.
